Mama Chungu’s Impact
Mrs Cecilia Chungu helped a tremendous number of women, children and the vulnerable in the area all her married life. From the age of 18, her husband Alexander built the house and they settled in the village where they brought up a family of 12..
She helped in little and more significant ways showing kindness and generosity. For example, there was always food and water available to anyone in need. She employed village folk on her farm sharing the bounty of the crops with them.
She helped with money for school fees and uniforms as she traded her crops and other goods in the markets.
The Chungu family have continued in her foot steps raising money and giving a helping hand to those in need.
